Master of Health Management students follow a prescribed prospectus based on their stream of study. Using mostly asynchronous online learning, course content is presented to students through a combination of text, slides, audio clips, and videos. On occasion synchronous sessions are used. This graduate program has purposefully included two short face-to-face residency periods to develop a sense of community among the students.
NOTE: The University considers full-time students to be those that have their studies as their priority. Full-time students who are participating in paid employment should work no more than an average of 20 hours a week to a maximum of 1005 Hours in the academic year.

The Master of Health Management program is offered primarily online, with two short on-site mandatory residency periods (three days each at McMaster University). These coincide with the HM700 / Health Systems and Policy and HM708 / Leadership in Health Organization courses. Through small group work, discussions and presentations, students participate in activities which complement online coursework. The residency period also provides an opportunity to understand program information such as year 3 options, program resources, library resources, and academic writing to promote success in the program.
Please note: All in-person events are subject to evolving guidance and mandates from the province of Ontario and McMaster’s commitment to the health, safety and well-being of our University community. Should there become a need to pivot from a planned in-person event to virtual, the Program will make efforts to provide students with suitable notice, as permitted by the relevant event.
